Why did you choose this career?
Today I will write about why did I chose Forest engineering.
First, at school I always liked science and math. My favorite subjects was chemistry and biology.
When I left school I did not know what to study. But as a child I had dreamed of being a doctor, because doctors are cool and I liked to learn a lot. In the PSU I had a good score, but I did not have enough for medicine. So I entered to Bachillerato en Ciencias Exactas in the Universidad de Chile. Within the program, I got a quota for occupational therapy. In that year studying therapy I realized that I do not like hospitals or read humanistic texts. So I retired, I took a year to think what I would do. I went to live in Copiapó. In that year, I thought that science not only includes health, but also nature and I like that. First of all I thought about career of natural resources, but I do not like the curriculum net, but in forestry, if I like it. That's why I'm here.
In the first year of the university, it was a difficult year because I suffered from insomnia so it was hard enough to get up early to get to the classes. Despite that, I approved all my subjects. I liked the field trips very much, and I had good teammates. In my second year, I do not care a bit about the studies, because I focus on being a fech counselor. So I reprobated almost all my subjects. From third year, I put the batteries and I went back to study with enthusiasm. These years in the university have been hard, because I had to believe in myself after failing already in the election of my previous career.
I would like to work in the Ministry of the Environment, in order to contribute to improve the legislation in that area or in any reservation in the southernmost regions of Chile
